Tiina Nevanperä, Artist's Statement My objective as an artist is not to examine visual images but to examine artistic thinking through my artistic process as adhered to the explicit and implicit, conscious and unconscious process of thinking. It is prominent that artistic thinking occurs through art. One of the objectives of my research is to highlight how artistic thinking could possibly contribute to scientific and philosophical thinking, and moreover, how it could possibly expose the lifeworld from a new, untamed and fresh perspective. The pivotal question that arose was: why do I intentionally produce work
that seems somewhat different from my own interpretative framework, and why
does the work seem to have relations to the outside that I myself find somewhat
implicit and uncanny? For me this became an interesting and ultimately
compelling question and I believe that it is connected to the feature that art
has always been involved with the logic of difference. I started my Doctor of Arts studies at Aalto University, School of Arts, Design and Architecture at the Department of Pori 2010. More: http://tiinanevanpera.carbonmade.com/
